The air is chill, leaves start to turn,
Greetings, Autumn, my dearest friend.
Summer was long and relentless,
I’m so glad you’ve come ’round again!
Red, yellow, and orange,
The colors of warmth are ample,
But you bring with you a bite and a frost,
Of winter to come – a tiny sample.
Oh, glorious Autumn,
All around, the leaves are beginning to fall,
Out come countless sweaters and boots,
Basic girls make videos to show this seasons haul.
Pumpkin everything, we cry!
Out come the PSL marked Starbucks cups,
Salted caramel, slouchy socks, and flannel,
Even scarves and booties for their pups!
A basic white girl who loves you, Autumn,
That, I may be.
But it’s okay – I really don’t mind,
I celebrate you proudly!
